Concerts at City Hall
Since autumn 2015, Tampereen Pianoseura ry (the Tampere Piano Association) has organised a concert series held in the assembly hall of Tampere City Hall. The performers are primarily musicians in the completion phase of their studies at Tampere University of Applied Sciences. Tampere has evolved into a nationally significant education hub for classical music. In addition to the higher education level offered at the University of Applied Sciences, Tampere Conservatoire offers training for musicians at the level of upper secondary vocational education and training.
In addition, more renowned Finnish pianists have performed in the concert series. The first charity concert in the series was held in September 2016, with the proceeds directed to the Crisis Management Initiative organisation. Roope Gröndahl was the pianist performing in the concert.
